5 Biblical Purpose of Marriage

5 Biblical Purpose of Marriage

Knowing the Christian marriage purpose, which is based on biblical teachings, is crucial. Let’s examine the five divine reasons found in the Bible for marriage.

1. Tо Avоіd Fоrnісаtіоn

“To avoid immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband,” says (I Corinthians 7:2). God created marriage as a holy place where we can freely express our sexuality. God created sex, and it is wonderful by nature. As such, we should embrace and express our sexuality within the safety and sanctity of marriage.

2. Prосrеаtіоn and Brеаrіng Chіldrеn

Moral education needs to start at home, where our kids should pick up the core principles of life.

It is the vital responsibility of parents to teach their children about responsibility, authority, and how to be engaged, responsible members of the community and the church. Raising sons who stand as men of integrity, unafraid, and resistant to peer pressure, and daughters who preserve their virginity are the two things we should teach our children to do. Our intention is to fully include God’s Word into our children’s lives by immersing them in it.

3. To Serve And Love Anоthеr

Serving one another is one of marriage’s most important goals.

Everybody has an innate need to be needed, and marriage satisfies this need by enabling husbands and wives to take care of one another. We may eventually get egocentric and stop providing this service, which could cause problems in the relationship. According to 1 Corinthians 7:32–34, married couples are called to balance their earthly and spiritual responsibilities by tending to one other’s wants and desires. Single people can dedicate themselves fully to the Lord.

4. For Two To Become One

Genesis 2 states that woman sprang from man, namely from Adam. God then brought them back together, combining male and female via marriage to form a single entity. According to Genesis 2:18, “The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for man to be alone; I will make a helper suitable for him.'” God created the roles of male and female, husband and wife, intending for them to become one body in this divine plan. This partnership exemplifies the deep spiritual bond that arises from marriage and sex.

5. Huѕbаndѕ and Wіvеѕ aѕ Chrіѕt and the Churсh

The family is a reflection of both the Church and Christ.

Because of this, a household should ideally consist of a husband and a wife. As Christ’s bride, we are joined to Him as our divine groom. In keeping with this holy connection, the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the Church.
